Details of the day: Our wedding day was a dream come true and it couldn’t have happened without all the vendors by my side and their exquisite work and most importantly my family. I wanted a classic wedding dress and when I found I knew it was the one. Vera Wang-It was all about the baroque beading on the bodice and the 16 layers of tulle with a touch of lace. My veil was custom made by Jennifer Lee. All 12 feet of it! My earrings had a touch of Royal blue in them along with my shoes. The party dress – A gown by Ian Stewart in ice blue I found on his website and Kleinfelds carried it. I have never seen such a beautiful wedding dress that wasn’t your traditional gown. I had to have it. The Ivory embroidery on the bodice gave it that winter snowy feel.
Paul and I wanted to surprise our guests at our wedding with a dance and since we’ve been having the “Time of Our Life” together for almost ten years we had to show it! We took private lessons at Starlight dance studio in Nutley Nj for three months. Our instructor Jessica was phenomenal and never let us quit. I couldn’t thank Jessica enough for everything she had done! She also attended our wedding and coached us in Bridal sweet before the show was on! The “Lift” happened.
Being that it was NYE at such a beautiful venue I wanted a Gatsby theme. I had my bridesmaids wear a gown by Adrianna Pappell that gave the girls the look with bling and elegance. I gave the girls matching shawls and muffs with a customized broach I picked out for the cold weather. I also accessorized them with all matching jewelry and shoes. I searched in bridal shops for dresses but nothing stood out. I had two Junior Bridesmaid dresses and a flower girl dress. I had these dresses designed and custom made via phone/email by Love Baby J Couture in WA. We worked together with all the girls sizes and designing the perfect dresses. I accessorized the girls and had shawls made to match perfectly. They were transported in a party bus. I was in an Excalibur .
I ordered my flowers from The Potted Geranium and Vito did the most exquisite job. I wanted neutral colored flowers with plumes. Vito made this come true with using 3 different types of candelabras in different heights and adding to tables with candlelight. Inside the cocktail hour main room he created a crystal tree to display. Hundreds of tea light candles we’re displayed around all the different rooms during cocktail hour while fireplaces were lit. I also created custom bow tie cocktail napkins with our engagement photo on them that said ” Drink Champagne Dance on the Table” to continue the theme.
I had our entertainment add a personalized monogram projected onto the Pleasantdale as guests entered outside that said…And They Lived Happily Ever After ……it was beautiful! Cake decor I purchased and Vito decorated it beautifully adding broaches and plumes. I surprised Paul with a grooms cake with his favorite a Rolex watch made by Aroma di Napoli Bakery in Nutley. I also ordered our favorite Italian cookies as part of desserts! The Pleasantdale Chateau also created my favorite dessert a Nutella shots for all of us to enjoy. We danced the night away with X7 Entertainment band and Dj. The live music of the 9 person band along with our DJ was great! We wanted a mix of music. We partied and watched ball drop on 4 flat screen TV’s until 1:00 am.
We created gift bags for all our guests who booked overnight stay. Filled with snacks, fruit and drinks so our guests were comfortable. They were also given sleep t-shirts that said No Pain Like Champagne #12-31-14 to continue our Gatsby/NYE theme. Guests were able to visit the red carpet photo booth with our own personalized backdrop with NYE props we purchased at the wedding. I couldn’t thank the Pleasantdale enough for perfectly timing each event at the wedding, 3 outfit changes along with shoes and jewelry (with two dressers) a surprise dance, video montage. Each guest was given a Gatsby vase at the end of the night as a favor.
Your favorite part: Surprising Paul with my Ian Stewart Dress and our guests with our, surprise dance!
If you could change one thing about your wedding what would it be? I wanted to spend more time with each guest and have a chance to speak with them more. It goes by so fast and there is so much going on, I didn’t get to greet everyone right away. You are being pulled in a million directions! I also was on point and very detailed about everything at the wedding. However, we forgot to take individual photos with our extended family. Aunts Uncles and cousins.
Advice for other brides: I loved planning the wedding. I would do it again! I used Pinterest to get some basic ideas and elaborated from there. I ordered al my little specialties from Etsy. They are good at customizing what you need! I did get extremely stressed out at some points. Don’t worry it all works out in the end! Enjoy and be in the moment, because it goes by in a FLASHHHHH! Most importantly, your marrying the man you love-forever!<3 It’s about you two.
