“I always envisioned having an elegant and classic wedding. I wanted everything to be formal from the music to the ambiance–romantic and timeless.”

“The day started out with rain in the morning, but by 1:00 PM the skies cleared and it was the most beautiful perfect day a bride could hope for. Using seasonal colors like purple, green and ivory, we were able to add hints of color to the black tie affair with an autumnal essence”

“The selection of floral arrangements made a lasting impression on our guests. Centerpieces were a mix of grapes and flowers in silver antique bowls. James and I knew we wanted low lighting and lots of candles, so we highlighted the centerpieces with pin spot lighting and filled the entire room with candles.”

“My gown was a gorgeous Carolina Herrera “Juliet” dress with which I wore a cathedral veil and a Jennifer Behr hair piece. Underneath the dress, my mother pinned a bluebird pin which is a family heirloom that all brides in my family have worn for generations on their wedding day. Within my bouquet was a pinned piece of antique Belgium lace from my mothers wedding dress. All of the groomsmen wore classic shawl lapel tuxedos that matched the groom. The bridesmaids wore slate colored long silk chiffon J. Crew dresses.”

“The first look with my husband was very special. When he turned around to see me for the first time he had tears in his eyes and wouldn’t stop saying how beautiful I looked. In my mind, he was the one that really looked amazing and at that moment, I felt so lucky to be marrying such an amazing man.”

“During the ceremony, a string quartet played John Legend’s “All of Me” as I walked down the aisle. My brother, Scott, was ordained to marry us and he gave such a special ceremony; there was not a dry eye in the place. The cocktail hour-and-a-half featured a jazz trio playing outside, a signature drink bar (featuring golf and Frank Sinatra themed drinks) and a fantastic mix of delicious food–including a raw bar.”

“The reception was just breathtaking. We had a ten piece band keep all of the guests on their feet all night. The saxophonist even came out into the crowd to play. The night ended with guests being able to take fried chicken sliders to go. Delicious! To this day, everyone says that it was the most fun they ever had at a wedding.”

Your favorite part:
“My favorite part of the wedding day was being able to say “I do” to the man of my dreams. We were able to incorporate so many special family heirlooms and details into our wedding that it made the day that much more special. We had been taking dance lessons for weeks and we nailed it with a dip at the end of our dance to Rod Stewart’s “You’re in my Heart.”

Advice for other brides:
“Remember to soak in the moment. Really look around at everyone in attendance and think about how much they mean to you. It will probably be the only time that all of those people are in the same room. Take in how much you love your significant other and how amazing you feel at that very moment. Don’t let the minute details of planning a wedding get in the way of the most special day of your life.”
