“My wedding day was magical. We were going for a whimsical feeling but still keeping true to our shore roots… where we met! I wanted a dress that made me feel beautiful but still funky and fun which is why I chose the Monique corset with the poppy flowers and sparkle. It was traditional, but non-traditional enough that it still had the surprise factor. My veil was a cathedral veil that also had petals trailing from my head to the bottom of the train. It was amazing.”

“One of my favorite details of the wedding was the tulips hanging from the ceiling of the chapel. We wanted people to walk into the ceremony knowing that it was going to be a beautiful, whimsical, and FUN wedding! For the reception we chose to do four different centerpiece ideas which were beautiful. The bridal party table had huge cherry blossom arrangements that almost hit the ceiling. Baby’s breath, hydrangeas, and peonies are my favorite flowers, so the other three centerpieces had variations of those flowers with roses and tulips as well. The flowers blew me away.”

“I am a huge cry baby so the day was filled with so many happy tears. From the accessories my parents gifted me with, to my mom’s garter that my cousin caught at my mom’s wedding gave to me, to the inscribed bracelet my husband sent up to my room the morning of the wedding, and my Cinderella shoes; it was magical and I couldn’t have asked for a better day.”

“I have a few favorite parts; one funny and one serious. Serious: Walking down the aisle with my father was an indescribable moment. Having that moment together was just something so special and to see my husband at the end of the aisle and my mom and sisters filled with tears of happiness was a moment that I won’t forget for the rest of my life.

“As for the funny moment: When we were exchanging rings, my husband could not get my ring on my finger for the life of him! It was something so typical that would happen to us and we had the whole crowd laughing along! When we finally got the ring on, we couldn’t kiss because we weren’t pronounced husband and wife yet… so we high fived. What dorks!”

Advice for other brides:

“I always think this section is hilarious because I used to read all the advice and many brides would say “don’t stress too much, try to enjoy the planning process” and of course I was driving myself insane with all the planning and the details. So my advice to other brides would be… Listen to all the brides who say don’t stress too much, enjoy the planning process, because I didn’t listen and they were all right!”
