Rachel and Frank’s Wedding at Adventure Aquarium

Details of the Day: We wanted to keep our wedding very simple, timeless, and elegant, while still incorporating the unique and fun atmosphere the aquarium gave us. It was challenging to plan for an autumn wedding, while also keeping the nautical theme. We opted for calla lilies since a little goes a long way when decorating with, and they are gorgeous! (I also loved that white calla lilies represent “true devotion”). We decided to have cupcakes as our favors (because who doesn’t love cake!?) and to keep the nautical theme, we topped them with white chocolate starfish and candied pearls.

The Location: We really wanted to have something unique and fun. We had looked at several other South Jersey wedding venues, and while they were all beautiful, none of them were really “us”.

The Wedding Gown: My dress was designed by Amelia Sposa, and was a 3/4 sleeve lace and English net ballgown. I wanted to have a classic, tasteful, and elegant dress. I had been dress shopping at a few places, but nothing really stood out to me. While I was researching other wedding details, I came across a picture of it, and immediately fell in love with it- it was unlike anything I had seen or tried on.

Favorite Moment: During our first dance, Frank twirled me around. We were both having such a good time, and we locked eyes for a second, and I will never forget the huge smiles on both of our faces. It was really an amazing day, but I will never forget that moment.

Favorite Detail: The cake topper! I found it on Etsy, and fell absolutely in LOVE with it.

First dance song:  It Had To Be You- Harry Connick Jr.

Advice for other brides: Take a minute, and look out at everyone during the ceremony. It was such an amazing moment to turn and see everyone, all of our friends and families that came together for us to celebrate love. Everything leading up to your wedding day is such a whirlwind, don’t forget to take a deep breath and really remember what the day is all about.
