New Jersey Bride—Peer Group—8 cosmetic surgery procedures for your wedding.Once you say “yes” you’ll start thinking about how you want to look on your wedding day. Aside from choosing the perfect dress and hiring a top-notch hair and makeup artist, there are a number of cosmetic procedures that will help complete your bridal look. We asked the docs at The Peer Group in Florham Park to share their advice and expertise for brides.

When it comes to planning for cosmetic surgery procedures before your wedding, timing is everything, says Dr. Colin Failey. “Many brides come in right before the wedding and are disappointed when there isn’t enough time for what she wants.” While the procedure itself might not take that long to schedule or complete, it’s the recovery time you need to really take into consideration. Swelling, redness and soreness all take time to subside, so schedule it far enough in advance so that you’re looking—and feeling—your best on the big day.

1 Year or More: Go for a Consultation

As soon as you’re engaged, you should book a consult with a reputable, board-certified plastic surgeon. The sooner you know what you’re going to do, the sooner you can schedule (and budget for) the procedures.

1 year: Skin Care

It is never too soon to start a serious skin-care regime with some medical-grade products that can help start transforming your skin, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, and giving you a youthful glow.

9 months  to 1  Year: Breast Augmentation

Keep in mind that swelling is gone within one to two months, and the final shape is reached by three months.

6 to 8 months: Injectables (trial)

If you’ve never done Botox®, Restylane® or any other injectable, you’ll want to try it in advance. Every face animates differently, so you need to see how your face reacts or if you like how you look.

6 months: Laser Hair Removal

Multiple treatments at least a month apart will be needed.

2 to 4 months: Latisse®

It’s best to start months in advance, using it every day. When your lashes achieve their best look, you can switch to three times per week to maintain it.

1 to 2 months: Moderate Chemical Peels

There will likely be peeling and some redness, so you want to give your skin time to heal completely before the wedding.

3 to 4 weeks: Fraxel®

Healing is quick and downtime is limited with this procedure, but there could still be some peeling.

3 to 4 weeks: Injectables

After an initial trial run, you can go in for another round of injectables so your face is refreshed for the wedding.
