New Jersey Bride Christine and Jason Engagement Session Photographer Michelle Arlotta took Christine and Jason’s engagement pictures in Asbury Park, NJ. “This shoot was a lot of fun, we had a good time and Michelle did such a great job capturing all of our little expressions with each other,” Christine said. Read their engagement story below. “Jay and I had been dating for about 3 and a half years when he proposed. We actually knew each other in high school, but didn’t spend much time together. We reconnected about 4 years ago through his older sister who I was friends’ with since high school. We started dating, and moved in together after about 2 years.   New Jersey Bride Christine and Jason Engagement SessionNew Jersey Bride Christine and Jason Engagement Session Occasionally we spoke about getting married and what our future plans would be. We looked at different rings together and I emphasized how much I wanted an emerald on it because I loved them and green is my absolute favorite color. We were going on a cruise at the end of April for a friends wedding, and I had the thought that he would propose while we were on the cruise. New Jersey Bride Christine and Jason Engagement Session New Jersey Bride Christine and Jason Engagement Session Jason and I often go hiking to different areas and explore trails all over New Jersey, upstate New York and Pennsylvania. Its something we both love to do and enjoy spending time doing it together. In early April, once the weather was getting nicer, we decided to take a trip to High Point State Park – known for having the highest elevation point in New Jersey. It was a beautiful spring day; we stopped and got breakfast on our way to the park. New Jersey Bride Christine and Jason Engagement Session New Jersey Bride Christine and Jason Engagement Session Once at the park, we climbed to the monument that symbolized the highest point in New Jersey. There were awesome views that you could see all over, including the state of New York. After spending some time at the monument we went on one of the trails – a fairly moderate trail that went around the mountain for approximately 5 and a half miles. It took us about 2 hours to hike around. Once we were done, I was sweaty, tired, and ready to get in the car for our two hour ride back home. Jay insisted on hiking back up to the monument. I didn’t understand why. He claimed we needed to take more pictures there. Initially I protested, but then realized what may be happening.   New Jersey Bride Christine and Jason Engagement Session New Jersey Bride Christine and Jason Engagement Session We climbed back to the top of the monument and took some more pictures. Once we sat down, Jay pulled the ring out of his backpack and proposed. I was so happy and excited that I immediately said yes! One of the most awesome things is that the gorgeous diamond ring has two emeralds on the sides of it- it was a custom job. Jay had all the things that I liked about different rings combined into one that I absolutely LOVE and adore. Our two hour car ride home was spent calling close friends and family to tell them the good news! It was such an amazing day for both us. New Jersey Bride Christine and Jason Engagement Session New Jersey Bride Christine and Jason Engagement Session We took our engagement photos in Asbury because we often go there to walk to boardwalk, see a concert, or go out to dinner. Since our wedding is in the fall of next year, we decided to get some summer pictures of the two of us at the beach! Definitely looking forward to the wedding and how awesome all of it will be.” New Jersey Bride Christine and Jason Engagement Session
