You’ve probably seen them out there—new and oh-so-sophisticated designs for paperless invites. Paperless Post for example, now features stunning wedding designs from Vera Wang (above) and Crane & Co. If you find yourself wondering about the etiquette of paperless, you’re not alone. While things are definitely changing, for formal weddings most insiders agree that paper invitations are still the best choice. And a few additional advantages with paper: They make timeless keepsakes and won’t get caught up in someone’s spam filter.

As for showers, brunches, bachelorette parties and rehearsal dinners, paperless invitations are widely accepted, as well as save-the-date notices. But if your wedding is extremely casual or you’re going with a pronounced eco-friendly theme, you certainly have the leeway to go the paperless route. And don’t worry—if you fall in love with a design on Paperless Post, they’re all available in electronic and paper formats, too.
