How did you meet?
Adam and I met on November 16, 2013 at Green Rock Tap & Grill in Hoboken, NJ. We had known of one another but never officially met. Luckily, on that night in November, my best friend, Caroline, introduced us and the rest is history!

How did you get engaged?
For my 31st birthday, Adam booked a trip for us to the Atlantis in the Bahamas. Upon checking in, we were told that the computer had them checking out a day earlier than what they had actually booked so Adam would need to meet with the Casino, since the reservation was booked through the Casino, to adjust the date. I thought nothing of it and we decided to head out to the pool to soak up some sun until our room was ready. After laying out for awhile, Adam told me he was going to go to the Casino to fix the check-out date and to see if the room was ready. An hour later, Adam returned to the pool. Adam said that he was able to fix the check out date, the room was ready and our dinner reservation was at 6:30pm at Nobu.

I decided I was going to head to the room to start getting ready while Adam stayed by the pool a little longer. On Adam’s walk back to the room, he texted me to let her know that a friend had recommended a spot to watch the sunset, which set at 5:20pm, and asked if I wanted to go to that spot for drinks before dinner. I agreed.

At 5pm, Adam hurried me out of the room and through the hotel because he didn’t want to miss the sunset. Adam walked me outside, looked around, and then turned around and said we were going the wrong way. Adam walked Kim in a different direction outside and as we turned a corner, a photographer snapped a picture. Immediately I thought I walked into the pictures of a wedding that was taking place that night and shouted, “OMG, I’m so sorry.”

As I looked around, I saw an aisle of red rose petals and a table with champagne on it. Adam looked at me, with the most genuine and nervous smile, and pulled me into the aisle of rose petals. Adam got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I, in between happy tears, shouted out YES and Adam placed the beautiful engagement ring on my finger. It was the most perfect and absolute best moment of our lives and the start of our next chapter

Why did you choose your venue?
Adam and I looked at many wedding venues, however, when we walked into The Rockleigh I was mesmerized by the stunning chandeliers. Between The Rockleigh’s reputation for their cocktail hour food, the staff’s friendly attitude, the stunning ballroom, and the overall vibe/ambiance that you feel….it was an easy decision to make.

What was on your menu?
10-oz Prime Filet Mignon served with a reduction of Madeira Wine, shallots and truffles; Salmon stuffed with caramelized apples served with a cinnamon-laced cream foam; Chicken scaloppini layered with spinach, prosciutto, fresh mozzarella and marsala wine demi-glace topped with frizzled onions.Cake – oreo

All about your gown!
When I went into Elizabeth’s John’s Bridal Boutique in Morristown, I thought I knew what I wanted. I told the consultant that I wanted a sweetheart mermaid dress, maybe some sequins and no lace. The consultant pulled about 10 dresses based on my description. When I got to the 4th dress to try on, the consultant looked at me and said, “I know you said no lace, however, all the lace on this dress is sequin. I think you should try it.” From the moment I put on the dress, I knew it was the one – it just felt right. When I walked out into the fitting room where my family was sitting, everyone gasped; even members of other brides families who were sitting there. My mom told me that the dress reflected my personality. I tried on some dresses after “the one” but none of them made me feel the same way.

What was your favorite moment?
Adam and I decided not to do a first look. While first looks are great, I think there is something very special in the moment a man sees his bride for the first time walking down the aisle. I remember waiting to walk down the aisle and my heart was beating so fast but the moment the doors opened and I locked eyes with Adam, the moment felt so right – I was exactly where I should be.

One detail you couldn’t live without?
There are so many details that made our wedding amazing but if there was one detail I had to pick that I couldn’t live without, it would be our awesome DJ. Brandon, from Posh Entertainment, was amazing! I had explained to him that the most important thing to me was that everyone stay on the dance floor the entire night and that is exactly what he did! All ages enjoyed the music and he kept the dance floor packed!

Did anything go wrong?
No (or should I say….not that I’m aware of!)

Any advice for future brides?
Wedding planning is STRESSFUL but just remember to breathe and everything will fall into place!
