Read MoreAhead of her April 2024 wedding at the Rockleigh in Bergen County, Marianela “Lulu” Gonzalez, formerly of KTU’s radio-host duo Lulu and Lala, visited designer Kelly Faetanini’s flagship salon in New York City.
“The first dress I tried on was the one—my wedding dress,” says Lulu. “It was the opposite of what I had envisioned and I absolutely loved it!”
She won’t reveal the name of the gown she chose (after all, her fiancé Mitch could be reading this!), but she got to feel like a princess as she tried on gowns from Kelly’s Spring 2024 Eternal Collection, available now. Which dress is your favorite?
Q. What was your inspiration for the Eternal Collection?
I drew inspiration from classic silhouettes reminiscent of 1990s couture, modernized and infused with the intimate romantic essence of the South of France. I wanted the collection to be simple yet opulent.
Q. How do you hope women feel in your gowns?
I want women to try on my dresses and feel magical, deeply beautiful, more beautiful than they have ever felt before. I want them to see their inner beauty shine through.
Q. In addition to your NYC flagship store, are your gowns available in New Jersey?
Yes. At FBM Bridal in Point Pleasant and Bridal Atelier in Montclair.
Q. Any dress shopping tips for brides?
My best piece of advice is to go into the shopping process knowing that everyone is going to have an opinion, but prepare yourself to have resilience to those opinions. Anytime you feel stressed during the process, just take a deep breath and remember the why. Think of your fiancé. Think of the moment when you two will be standing together, becoming one. That’s what it’s all about.
