How they met:
We were set up! We were both single and living in New Jersey when Sunny got my phone number. He texted me right away- without context or even his name at first- and we decided to meet up for our first date. I thought he was sweet and funny, and was comfortable with him right away. Although we lived on total opposite ends of NJ, we started meeting up as often as we could, and we’ve been in love and inseparable ever since.

How they got engaged:
We spent Memorial Day weekend hanging out with our friends – we went to Top Golf (so fun!) and had a barbecue in the pouring rain. That Monday, since we were off from work, we decided to get breakfast at our local diner. I invited one of my best friends to join us and I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary. When we got back home, we started doing some chores but when I did the laundry, the dryers in my building were broken, so I had to drape wet laundry all over my apartment. We started watching TV when Sunny suddenly suggested getting ice cream. I never say no to ice cream, and I figured we would pick up take-out on our way back to watch The Bachelor with our friends. On the way there, Sunny wanted to walk by Pier A in Hoboken to “get a picture for his instagram,” which was weird but I didn’t think anything of it. We often walk on the pier, and just a few weeks ago we had narrowly missed someone else’s proposal. When we reached the end of the pier overlooking Manhattan, Sunny turned to me and asked, “Do you remember when we missed that proposal a couple weeks ago?” Before I could even process what was happening, Sunny got down on one knee and said, “Don’t miss this one.” I was shocked! I could not believe that I got to say YES to the man of my dreams! I did not know that Sunny had been planning it for weeks, and had both our families and close friends gathered at a nearby restaurant to celebrate. It was perfect!
