How did you meet?
We met while I was on a work trip in Kenya filming a humanitarian documentary. Zach was working and living in Nairobi and when we found out we both grew up in upstate NY we kept in touch afterwards.

How did you get engaged?
All week I was saying “climbing up the the Matterhorn for sunset is going to be the best day of my life!” Little did I know how life changing and beautiful that hike was going to turn out. As the sun set behind the row of mountains, the peak that was covered all day, finally revealed itself to us and for a few minutes the golden rays of light spread across the mountains. As we always do in epic places, Zach set up a tripod to take a glorified “selfie” of us together. He told me to do an unusual pose where we walked away from each other for a few strides before turning and running into each other’s arms. When I turned around he was on his knees reading me a note. It was all a blur, of tears and joy and laughter. I always used to say I didn’t want to get married because I didn’t want to have to give up my passion for travel and filmmaking and the free-spirited lifestyle that comes along with that. Through a chance encounter on a trip to Kenya, I met someone who could adventure and work as hard as I do. I’m so insanely excited about our future together!
