Acia and Corey wed on June 28, 2024 at Westmount Country Club.
Acia Robertson first noticed Corey Graves at a “Meet the Greeks” event at Rutgers University, where the now-couple attended college some 10 years ago. Though she told him with confidence to call her as she walked away, Acia forgot one crucial detail: her number!
That didn’t stop a determined Corey, who later found Acia via Facebook. After a few friendly conversations, the deal was sealed. Over the next several years—four of them long distance while Corey spent time in the U.S. Marines—the couple grew their relationship.
Acia didn’t initially think much of it when Corey asked her to get dressed up for dinner reservations one night in August 2022.
The couple had spent the last three weeks touring Italy and Greece, and on their very last night, they had plans to take in the water views at a cliffside restaurant in Santorini.
While marveling at the picture-perfect sunset, Corey suggested they take a photo to preserve the moment—one that became life-changing when he popped the question.
Known for its extravagant cocktail hour and attention to every detail, the Westmount Country Club in Woodland Park left an impression on the couple, who had attended a friend’s wedding there years prior.
“We loved the reception space and the beautiful sunset views from the ballroom floor of the Continental Room,” says Acia.
Their wedding vision was rooted in classic romance. A timeless palette of black and white with satin touches, candlelight, and a mixture of understated white florals—hydrangeas, roses, and baby’s breath—combined to bring a beautifully ageless yet modern elegance to the space on June 28, 2024.
The bride chose a strapless mermaid-style gown by Enzoani, paired with Jimmy Choo’s Saeda pumps, a Swarovski bracelet, and Ettika earrings.
At cocktail hour, guests sampled from what seemed like endless stations, noshing on lobster mac and cheese, suckling pig, rigatoni carbonara, New York-style sushi, fresh mozzarella and filet mignon tips.
For dinner, it was the classics done to perfection: Caesar salad and a choice of prime rib, grilled chicken, Atlantic salmon, or eggplant parmesan. To this day, guests are still raving about the Chick-fil-A station that was theirs to take from at the end of the night.
To honor Acia’s heritage rooted in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Caribbean flags were circulated during a lively and unforgettable performance by Quixotic Fiestas of Kearny.
“Research your vendors. Make sure they fit your aesthetic and overall vision for your wedding day, and most importantly that you love their energy,” says Acia.
After seven luxurious days exploring Moorea and Tahiti in French Polynesia, Acia, 32, and Corey, 33, are enjoying their first home in West Orange.
