Heerina and Russell wed at the Legacy Castle on September 23, 2023.
The couple met through mutual friends in college.
Enlisting the help of Heerina’s closest friends and family, Russell planned an unforgettable trip to Cape May.
With the caress of an ocean breeze, he led Heerina to a secluded area of the beach, set with champagne, a charcuterie board and a spread of flowers.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, Heerina and Russell experienced a moment of pure magic, described by Heerina as “the most perfect day.” The two were engaged at sunset, with hearts ignited by the glow across the water and the possibilities of their next chapter together.

Heerina and Russell’s wedding embodied a lavish state of mind, with overwhelming displays of florals, meticulously detailed fashion, and an evening filled with spectacular wonders.
True to a Hindu wedding, their celebrations spanned multiple days. To ensure guests had the ultimate experience, every detail was steeped in decor, garlands of flowers, and personalized touches, like the handwritten thank you cards left at each dinner place setting.
Each event over the weekend included captivating floral backdrops. Their ceremony altar was adorned with a flurry of blush and hot pink blooms, while their reception deepened the mood with luxurious velvets and darker berry tones.
Throughout the night, acrobatic performers danced from silks suspended from the ceilings.
Heerina and Russell shared a first dance on a smoky ballroom floor.
Even their cake cutting was magnificent, as they sliced through the multi-tiered delight with pyrotechnic fountains in the background.
The couple’s outfits were purchased in New Delhi, where Heerina traveled with her parents and Russell.
It was a surprise that her final wedding look, designed by Tarun Tahiliani, differed from her original vision.
The moment she tried it on, she was met with the group’s resounding “wow,” knowing this was the bridal feeling she had hoped for.
Her reception look, designed by Angad Singh, featured vivid technicolor patterns.
“My favorite moments were our first look and when we opened a fancy bottle of tequila in private and did our ‘finally married’ shots,” says Heerina.
“Some of my favorite personalized details were thank you cards at every place setting during the reception as well as personalized drinks during the ceremony with our QR code to upload guest pictures,” says Heerina.
“Always think twice and have a second opinion,” says Heerina. “Everyone sees things differently, and what you may overlook might be discovered by that second pair of eyes.”
The newlyweds enjoyed a honeymoon in Portugal!
