Brandon and I first met while working together at P.C. Richard & Son. I was 18 and he was 23. I was very hesitant to go out with him, but he kept insisting and finally I did. We have been together ever since.
We got engaged on the beach in Long Branch. All of our family was behind us on the boardwalk, and my mom set up rose petals and candles in the shape of a heart. It was a magical day.
The day was perfect. My color scheme was light pink and white. My bridesmaids wore that color and my centerpieces had a mix of light pink and white. We had a beautiful ice sculpture when you walked into the venue that took your breath away.
The Grove was the most beautiful venue that we went to. Although we are from New York, all the venues that we looked at were in New Jersey. We loved The Grove the moment we walked in. The entrance is amazing. My favorite part was the staircase in the ballroom that the bride and groom come down. The bride and groom suites were just so beautiful, too. There wasn’t one part of the venue that I didn’t love.
Our cocktail hour was amazing. We had all the traditional stations that the Grove offers including a Mexican station and raw bar. We also added a sliders and root-beer-float station. When it came to dinner, we kept it traditional: a burrata cheese salad, penne a la vodka and a choice of filet mignon, salmon or stuffed chicken. Our cake was a chocolate tres leches and red velvet.
My gown was everything I imagined it to be. My first appointment was at Bijou Bridal in Paramus. I knew that I definitely wanted a ballgown. The dress I choose was one of the first dresses that I put on, and I knew it was the one the moment I put the dress on. My dress was breathtaking—it had lots of beading on the top and a low back.
My favorite moment was having my first dance with my husband. It was such a magnificent and magical moment. Even though everyone was staring at us, it felt like we were alone.
Two details that I could not live without were my flowers by Premiere Events by Reema and the floor wrap by GoShout. It was absolutely amazing, and it totally changed the way the room looked. It was by far my favorite detail!
No! The day was absolutely perfect. Between the weather and considering Covid was starting to become more serious, we were very worried that people were going to cancel last minute or not show up at all. We were very lucky that we were able to have the wedding of our dreams!

Don’t sweat the small stuff. I know it’s hard for a bride not to. When you obsess over every small detail, it’s hard to enjoy the process.
