Kaitlin Wright, of Hazlet, and Andrew Leone, of Marlboro, were determind to have the “best day ever” at their September 9, 2017, wedding at the Inn at Fernbrook Farms in Chesterfield.
“I think one of the things that made our wedding so infectiously fun was our commitment to being completely present in the moment and making it a point to truly enjoy every aspect,” says Kaitlin.
They chose Fernbrook for its true farm-to-table experience and then added in loads of personal and sentimental touches.
From Andrew’s cousin Kasey officiating the nontraditional ceremony with a tree planting to African-violet centerpieces planted by the bride and her maids to handwritten signs and escort cards to the day itself—it was their eight anniversary—meaningful details were everywhere.
“When our big day arrived, we were both so overjoyed to be marrying one another that the entire day just oozed with unbridled happiness,” says Kaitlin. “Everyone was able to let their hair down and get a little wild!”
Close family and friends were treated to a mix of doo-wop and soul classics as they dined on brisket, pulled pork, chicken and corn on the cob.
A naked cake, homemade hand pies and ice cream sandwiches were served for dessert.
And then the band switched over to hip hop, with a secret medley and even a rap by Andrew. They closed out the night by playing “With a Little Help from My Friends.”
“It was the most blissful evening of my life; we have never felt more surrounded by love and support,” Kaitlin says. After a honeymoon cruise to the Mediterranean, the couple is home in Red Bank.
