James & Aundrea
Aundrea and James got married on April 28, 2023 at Hudson House.
Their Story
“Jimmy and I met on a night out in NYC! It was love at first sight and after our first date we both knew this was it!”
The Proposal
“Jimmy proposed on a rooftop in the city, surrounded by red rose petals and candlelight, with our song playing in the background,” says Aundrea.
“After celebrating with champagne and a few photos, he surprised me by taking me to a speakeasy where all of our family and friends were waiting to celebrate. I was completely shocked.”
Choosing the Venue
“We chose the venue for so many reasons, but especially for the stunning views and sleek, modern architecture. Hudson House is incredibly unique and felt like the perfect setting.”
Details of the Day
“I envisioned a wedding that felt elegant, chic, and truly timeless, something that wouldn’t feel dated years from now.”
“I leaned into a classic black-and-white palette, our guests wore black, the florals were entirely white with no greenery, and floating candles filled the space.”
“I carried a beautiful orchid bouquet that tied everything together so perfectly. As night fell, the venue looked absolutely breathtaking.”
“We had both live entertainment and a DJ to keep the energy flowing throughout the evening.”
“In lieu of traditional favors, we chose to make a donation to the American Cancer Association in honor of our loved ones.”
Favorite Moment
“It’s impossible to choose just one moment, but walking down the aisle with my father toward my now husband is a memory that will always stand out to me.”
Wedding Day Attire
“I wore a custom Eva Lendel gown with an overskirt for the ceremony, then changed into a look featuring a dramatic bow later in the evening, paired with Jimmy Choo heels.”
“My bridesmaids wore black satin gowns from Bella Bridesmaids, while my sister and maid of honor wore a coordinating yet distinct gown with a necktie, also from Bella Bridesmaids. Jimmy wore Salvatore Loretta.”
Advice For Other Couples
“Spend the entire day truly present with your partner! Hold hands and don’t let go. While photos are important, allow them to capture the moment rather than forcing every shot from a list.”
“I was incredibly fortunate to work with vendors who prioritized our experience over content. In a world so driven by social media, it’s important to remember that your wedding day is for you and your partner. Please treat it that way!”
