Maya and Eric got married on August 10, 2024 at Liberty House.
Maya and Eric Roberts met online when he slid into her DMs. They soon discovered how much they had in common: They lived in the same town, both work as engineers, and their mothers even share the same birthday.
Maya moved to Denver after graduating from NJIT in 2017, and was eager to experience the outdoor scene there. She was intrigued by the cool, adventurous pictures on Eric’s profile.
When they met for their first date at the Denver Botanic Gardens, it was love at first sight.
Romance was in the air when Maya and Eric set off for a European adventure, the first time abroad for each of them.
Their tour started in Paris, continued to Bordeaux and then reached the seaside French town of Biarritz, where after dinner, Eric lit candles on the beach and Maya found him on one knee.
She said yes, and they shed tears and exchanged their first vows.
The wedding theme was pearls. Maya is a fashionista who loves elegant classic looks. Her wedding attire included wardrobe changes for the ceremony, dance, reception and after party—each with pearl accents. The common threads of Maya’s dresses were crisp, dreamy sheers, a signature style of the bride.
The bridal party continued the theme. The bridesmaids’ two-piece ensembles had a metallic print with a sheer champagne/nude overlay.
The groomsmen followed suit with classic tuxes accented with pocket squares made of the same fabric as the bridesmaids’ skirts, and champagne-colored bow ties.
The groom donned a Prince Charming-inspired look with pearl accents in his tie, boutonniere, tux studs, cufflinks and more.

Since Eric is from the Denver area, many of his friends and family had not spent much time on the East Coast. Liberty House in Jersey City offered the ideal setting to show what Jersey has to offer.
“When you drive into Liberty State Park, there’s something about the cobblestone, the Hudson River, the marina and the view of downtown New York City that says very special moment,” Maya says.
The couple was wowed by the grand ballroom, which, “felt very luxurious and overall beautiful,” the bride says.
Being near the marina kept with the pearl theme and checked another of Maya’s boxes. The wedding celebration on August 10, 2024 included the ceremony with the river and New York City in the backdrop, followed by a lavish cocktail reception and dinner.
Taking advantage of the Liberty House’s marina, the after party was on the RMS Emerald Princess, a double-deck private charter. “We wanted to give [our guests] the ultimate experience,” Maya says.
As the wedding guests were leaving the boat, fireworks began lighting up the sky over the river. Once the fireworks started, the crew told the couple to stay behind and enjoy. Maya and Eric sat alone, gazing at the sky. “Taking that short time to soak it all in was very blissful and dreamlike,” the bride says. “It felt like the fireworks were just for us.” It was their surprise grand finale, and they joked that they would tell the guests that they’d planned it!
These two adventurers set off to Seychelles, where they island hopped, hiked, kayaked and beached for two weeks. They even rented a car to reach more secluded shores and hiked to mountain tops for stellar views.
