Melissa and Dan tied the knot on April 5, 2024 at Crystal Plaza.
The couple met on May 30 2018 and had their first date at the Marlton Hotel bar for cocktails in NYC.
“We hit it off and ventured to Beatrice Inn for dinner and then topped the Wednesday night off with dive bar jazz at Arthur’s Tavern,” says Melissa.
Melissa loved Dan’s “gentlemanly courtship” and kind heart and Dan loved Melissa’s positive enthusiasm for life.
Dan proposed at a resort in Playa Mujeres in Mexico. They did a photo shoot and at the end, Dan proposed on one knee in the sand and then planned a romantic dinner on the beach.
“The dinner was so beautiful and we called our family and close friends,” says Melissa. “The next day we lounged at the pool and signed up for a salsa lesson, which was a blast.”
“Our wedding day was a fairytale,” says Melissa. “The ballroom was elegant and matched our aesthetic of glamorous ivory and gold accents.”
“Our florals were a mix of roses and orchids. The chuppah and bouquets had hints of rose color.”
For a fun farewell touch, the couple opted for favors that were NYC pretzels with dips that said “We Tied the Knot.”

“We toured ten venues and Crystal Plaza was the last one we saw,” says Melissa. “It combined all of our wishes including a ballroom that made us feel like royalty.”
“The cocktail hour area had indoor/outdoor space and we loved that we were the only party taking place that day. The getting ready spaces for our bridal party were icing on the cake!”
“Our favorite moments were our private first look, being lifted in the chairs during the hora, and dancing on-stage with the band.”
“We incorporated elements into our ceremony from our relatives,” says Melissa. “A phenomenal band was important to us and the food was beyond expectations.”
“We would tell other couples to tour, chat and visit with many vendors before selecting yours,” says the bride. “Although it is just one day, it is such a meaningful process to align on a shared, beautiful vision for your wedding with your spouse.”
The couple enjoyed a “Medium Moon” (longer than a mini-moon) for six nights at the Four Seasons Anguilla.
“We enjoyed a ceviche-making class together and listened to local artists perform.”
