Jessica and Dan tied the knot on April 22, 2023 at Clarks Landing Yacht Club in Point Pleasant. They originally met on the app Hinge and, the day after their first date, Jessica texted her sister, “I may have to consider marrying this guy.”
Dan popped the question on Thanksgiving 2021 at Jessica’s uncle’s house. “He wanted the moment to be private and was hoping to get me out on the back deck, just the two of us,” says Jessica. “Of course I was being difficult, not having any idea he intended to propose. I continued to beckon him to make me a fresh Old Fashioned and didn’t move from the couch for hours.”
Dan finally found his chance and asked. “It was so simple, but very us,” she says.
“Excellent food—that was the biggest seller for me,” says Jessica.
They also love the beautiful space, on the water, the cocktail hour and the staff.
“I was going for a simple, classic and elegant with coastal blue and grays,” says Jessica. “The venue itself is gorgeous and I did not want to over-decorate.”
Her bouquet was free form with white roses, alstroemeria, angels breath, and eucalyptus. For the bridesmaids, they added an accent of blue larkspur. The couple placed blue and white pillar candles at the base of stairs and our sweetheart table, and their florist constructed a beautiful floral arrangement on the Romeo and Juliet balcony railing.
For their favors, the couple offered a Paw Bar, where guests could put together a baggy of dog treats. This is an add-on through Clarks, and half the cost is donated to the Ocean County Animal Shelter. They also had bags of Rook coffee. “We wanted to support a local Jersey business and provide something that would actual go to use,” Jessica says. They added stickers that said their names, wedding date and “the perfect blend.” names, date, and “The Perfect Blend”
The last song, dancing to “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen. “I had Dan to my left, my dad to my right, and everyone else surrounding us closely in a massive circle,” says Jessica. “We rocked out and scream-sang the entire song. My dad and I consider it our song, and Dan and his mom are huge Queen fans too.”
Honoring grandparents who were no longer with them. “I had a bouquet charm with my grandmother and grandfather, in our church program we dedicated our ceremony to them, and during cocktail hour we displayed the wedding photos of my parents, both sets of grandparents, and my maternal great grandparents,” says Jessica.
“Calm down,” says Jessica. “I was a pretty chill bride through it all. It is not worth driving yourself crazy.”
The couple traveled to Italy and Greece.
