Posted on September 29, 2017 by New Jersey Bride

Tarah-Steve-Grand-ChateauYour story: Steve and I met at a gym in Green Brook, NJ. Tarah-Steve-Real-Wedding-Park-Chateau Will you marry me? We got engaged at Jenkinson’s Boardwalk in Point Pleasant, New Jersey at the 95.5 Summer Blast-Off. Steve called me on stage and they told us that we won a trip to Aruba. While I was distracted Steve got down on one knee and proposed!  Read their story here!Tarah-Steve-Real-Wedding-Park-Chateau-bridesmaids Tarah-Steve-Real-Wedding-Park-Chateau Details of the day: My bridesmaids and I stayed over at our hotel the night before. We all woke up had coffee and then went over to the Park Chateau and got ready in the bridal suite. Tarah-Steve-Real-Wedding-Park-Chateau-bridesmaids Park Chateau had breakfast and coffee waiting for us as we all got hair and make up done. Park-Chateau-Tarah-Steve-REal-Wedding-getting-ready Park-Chateau-Tarah-Steve-REal-Wedding-getting-ready It was a stress-free morning and I had so much fun getting ready with all the girls. Tarah-Steve-Real-Wedding-Park-Chateau Tarah-Steve-Real-Wedding-Park-Chateau Tarah-Steve-Real-Wedding-Park-Chateau-first look Tarah-Steve-Real-Wedding-Park-Chateau-first look Steve and I decided to do a first look so we both could be at our cocktail hour. It was one of the best decisions we did! Park-Chateau-Tarah-Steve-REal-Wedding Why did you choose the Park Chateau? We chose our venue because it was absolutely breathtaking. The Park Chateau was everything we both had envisioned for our wedding day. Park-Chateau-Tarah-Steve-REal-Wedding-chapel Tarah-Steve-Real-Wedding-Park-Chateau Tarah-Steve-Park-Chateau-chapel We were treated like family from the day we booked and that was super important to Steve and I. We both loved that they had a chapel right on site and how easy and accessible everything was to our guests.   Tarah-Steve-Real-Wedding-Park-Chateau- Wedding menu and cake: The Park Chateau went above and beyond with our cocktail hour. From the Nanina’s Famous Hot Italian Seafood station to the Lobster Mac n Cheese, one of the biggest compliments our guests gave was how amazing our cocktail hour was. Tarah-Steve-Park-Chateau- The Martini Bar was a huge hit as well! Steve and I both made sure we were there because we didn’t want to miss it. The wedding menu started everyone off with the Estate Signature Salad, then our guests got to choose from Chicken Saltimbocca, Chateaubriand, or the Chilean Sea Bass. Tarah-Steve-Real-Wedding-Park-Chateau-cake We then finished it off with mini passed desserts—miniature French and Italian pastries, creme brûlée made to order, cannolis and so much more. Our guests loved the mini ice cream cones. Our cake was a five-tiered cake, filled with different layers of chocolate and vanilla. Tarah-Steve-Real-Wedding-Park-Chateau-dress Your gown: I only tried on five dresses before I picked my dress out. When I put it on I instantly fell in love. It was just me and my mom and when I walked out she started crying. I loved the beading, and the way it fit me. Tarah-Steve-Real-Wedding-Park-Chateau-dress Everyone told me that I would have “the moment” and I definitely did with my dress.   Tarah-Steve-REal-Wedding-Park-ChateauYour favorite moment: My favorite moment was definitely walking into our ballroom as Mr. & Mrs. As our parents and bridal party walked in, they shut the doors and we had 20 seconds to ourselves. We both really took in that moment and it was the beginning of a great night. Tarah-Steve-Park-Chateau-candy-truck What couldn’t you live without? The candy truck! Everyones knows how much I love sweets, so the candy truck was the perfect ending to our night. The candy truck arrived right as our guest were leaving and it was such a great surprise for everyone. Tarah-Steve-Park-Chateau-candy-truck Our guests choose from Dunkin Donuts, warm pretzels and every candy imaginable. We made little bags for them to take home. Tarah-Steve-Park-Chateau- Anything go wrong? Of course! But they were out of my control. Once I realized that there wasn’t anything I could do, I just went on with my day and enjoyed it. We had some ups and downs throughout our planning—everyone does, you just have to make the best of it. Tarah-Steve-Real-Wedding-first-dance First dance song: “You are the Best Thing,” Ray LaMontagne. Tarah-Steve-Real-Wedding-first-dance Advice for other brides: The advice that everyone gave me, to enjoy every second! Steve and I made sure to pull each other aside to really take in each moment. The day goes by so fast and it was important to us to try and live in the moment and appreciate everything we worked so hard for.
