The Proposal: One Saturday, Brian and I, along with our friends and Brian’s parents, went to the Rutgers v. Tulane game in New Brunswick. Afterwards, we went out to dinner at The Frog and the Peach with Brian’s parents. When we left dinner and were walking around New Brunswick, Brian stopped in front of an abandoned building where there was a man playing guitar. Thinking it was mere coincidence that he was playing our song, I was not expecting that in the next minute Brian would get down on one knee and ask me to marry him! At that point, it all came together…the abandoned building was where the restaurant Sapporo used to be, and that’s where we had our very first date. Both of our families came out with their cameras and video recorders to capture this special moment – we were both filled with so much joy and a lot of tears. From there, we all continued down to Harvest Moon. As I opened the door to the restaurant, I could see that our friends and family were there to celebrate with us. If there were only a few tears before, I was sobbing now. Overwhelmed and so excited, it was the best day of their lives!
Details of your day: I chose gold as the main “theme” of our wedding because that was one of the prominent colors in our fraternity (how we met). We absolutely loved the quaint elegance and beauty of Ramsey Golf and Country Club and it was close to Brian’s hometown. We decided to donate to two charities that were close to our hearts (Alzheimer’s Association and Memorial Sloan Kettering Center) instead of traditional favors.
