Stylist and wedding blogger Kristin Rockhill shared with us some of her favorite wedding trends right now, which also happen to be some of the hottest trends in the wedding world. Which is your favorite?!
Boho is still going strong. Romantic palettes of blush, lavender, creams, whites, greens and champagne reign supreme in the world of weddings. Soft whimsical details mixed with electric styling that are a little bit hippie, a touch of gypsy and a whole lot of personal style are what create that perfect boho vibe!
Venues that offer couples outdoor spaces to say “I do” are more popular then ever! Couples are bypassing traditional ballroom venues for scenic locals with sprawling grounds, spectacular views and rustic structures like barns to host their big day.
Art Deco details are popping up everywhere! From jewelry to invitation designs, gown embroidery and décor, subtle nods to the era known for geometric shapes and architectural details are a hot topic. Gold and wood round and geometric-shaped orbs filled with lush greens and blooms can be seen hanging in ceremony spaces and decorating tabletops at many weddings this year.
Mirrors are back and better then ever! Mercury glass and vintage-style mirrors are popping up on tablescapes as a base for flowers, lanterns, candle holders—and are also a popular choice for wedding signage. They add a touch of glamour to your wedding without being gaudy or old-fashioned.
Nothing gives your tablescape that picture-perfect look like a layered place setting. Charger plates, napkins, custom menus and a perfectly placed stem of greenery is a winning combination.
Couples are gravitating toward eclectic centerpieces with mismatched vessels, candles and décor scattered across the tabletop. Expect to see up to three different style centerpieces at weddings this year and even a mix of table shapes and sizes.
Things are looking up in 2017! Everything from floating and elevated centerpieces to lush hanging greenery installations and floral chandeliers have couples excited about wedding flowers and décor.
With dancing and the after party being such a big part of the night, brides & grooms are bringing in furniture to be placed around the dance floor to create more of a lounge feel to keep the party together rather then having large groups congregated near the bar.
Sweetheart tables are taking it up a notch and becoming a focal point of the reception space. Couples are bringing in love seats, wood tables and fancy linens to create a romantic space for a party of two!
Everything vintage including farm tables, antique settees, bureaus and vintage suitcases are making an appearance at weddings. They add homespun charm and character, and make the wedding feel more intimate and personal. Â
Naked cakes are oh so pretty! Whether they’re covered in frosting, dripping with chocolate or decked out in fresh fruits and berries, they remain a go-to design for 2017 couples.
Modern brides are loving the idea of two-piece wedding gowns! It gives them the opportunity to add some personal style to their wedding-day look. Giant ballroom skirts paired with fun and flirty tops in an array of colors are a hot look for 2017.
Don’t be afraid to let loose and give your girls the green light to put their best foot forward! Set a few ground rules like dress length and colors and give them a descriptive term like whimsical, modern or romantic that will allow them to achieve a cohesive yet personalized look. To unify your bridal party, choose one item that will be consistent, such as everyone having the same hair and makeup or identical shoes in an unexpected color.
Dessert is the best part of the night! Guests are drooling over late-night treats, especially when it comes in the form of an ice cream and waffles food truck! Milkshake shooters and milk and cookie to-go bags are also much appreciated!
Couples love the idea of having their pooch be a part of their big day! Will your fur baby be a part of the ceremony? Walk down the aisle? Party all night long? While we’re all for pups at the party, there are a lot of things to consider before you say I do to bringing your doggy to your wedding!
