“My fiance asked me during the week to meet him in New York City after work so that we could grab lunch and walk around Central Park, since we didn’t get to go there during our last visit into the city together. We agreed to meet after he was done running for work. The night before (what came to be) the big day, I did not feel well and didn’t know if I was going to make it into the city, but  my fiance insisted I come. I woke up the next day and decided to go as planned. His parents picked me up and we took the train into the city together. We waited until he was out of work then we went to meet him and his brother. Nick and I planned to meet up with his parents and brother later for dinner after we walked around by ourselves for a little bit. Little did I know that we were walking to our engagement spot and that the ring was given to him right when we met him after work! We first stopped to grab coffee, and my fiancé told me he wanted to bring me to a special spot in Central Park. He pulled out his phone and acted as though he was using a GPS to get to the special spot. Little did I know that he was communicating in a group chat with his parents and my parents. We walk slowly through the park and arrive at the Literary Walk and approach a set of stairs. It was a beautiful sight. My fiancé then says to me “What are your parents doing here?” My attention is directly brought to my parents, my fiancé’s parents, and his brother all standing looking at us with cameras.  I was in shock! I look back at Nick and he is on one knee with a ring box in his hand. This is when I was asked the question I had been waiting for, “Will you marry me?” I was so shocked and could not believe it! Of course I said “yes!” and now we’re engaged! As a couple, we have had many memorable moments in our five year relationship together, but this day topped it all. Not only was it an amazing day because we have been talking about this day, but it was amazing to share this day with both of our parents! It is one that we both will never forget and it is just the start to our amazing journey as the future Mr. & Mrs.”
