What was once a private country club for Fort Monmouth officers has been reimagined as a glamorous event space on Suneagles Golf Course. While renovating the interior, the designers of TillingHouse preserved its historic feel (the golf course was created in 1926). The game room, where the groom and groomsmen get ready, features a barber shop, billiards and shuffleboard. The bridal suite includes a dressing area, salon and two full bathrooms. Chef Ryan DePersio, of Battello and Fascino fame, is the TillingHouse chef. TillingHouse is now accepting wedding bookings; the first wedding will take place September 2023.
Basking Ridge
During a recent facelift, the venue replaced the carpeting in the entryway and ballroom with wood flooring as well as installed new carpeting in the Ridge Room (used for cocktail hour, indoor ceremonies and smaller events, like showers). In the ballroom (pictured above), which can accommodate 180 guests with a dancefloor, there are new window treatments, updated light fixtures and a fresh coat of paint. The all-gray color scheme provides a clean look. Nothing structural was changed and the stunning view of the 18th hole from the cocktail hour area and ballroom is still intact.
