Let designer Jean-Ralph Thurin create your custom-made, one-of-a-kind, never-to-be duplicated dream wedding dress from conception, using luxurious fabrics and fine embellishments. For the bride with a definite sense of personal style. It all begins with a personal consultation.
About Jean-Ralph Thurin: Born in New York to Haitian immigrant parents, Jean-Ralph demonstrated a strong penchant for fashion design at an early age. His siblings recall how at the age of 5, he was sketching women in long dresses; granted they looked more like stick figures in rectangular and triangular shapes, but the passion was there early on.
Growing up, Jean-Ralph learned to sew by watching his grandmother. He was fascinated by her ability to make clothes with little more than fabric remnants and thread. In high school, although he was not yet formally trained, Jean-Ralph followed in his grandmother’s footsteps as he fulfilled the multiple requests from classmates to make their prom dresses. And so began his career in fashion.
Jean-Ralph, a graduate of the prestigious Parsons School of Design, became enthralled by the fashion history of top haute couture Houses of Dior, Givenchy and Chanel. Architecture is the inspiration at the foundation of all of Jean-Ralph Thurin bridal designs. Angular lines guide wedding gown shapes and structure, while different building surface treatments influence fabric selection.
Jean-Ralph is a favorite of ours here at New Jersey Bride, and he’s the ideal person to create your dream gown. Not only will you walk away with a gorgeous design, but you’ll have met an amazing new friend.
