Carolers, Emerald Green Velvet & a First Look Under Snow-Covered Pines at The Park Savoy Estate
Kate and Joe chose The Park Savoy Estate in Florham Park for their December 28, 2025, wedding for the combination of the venue’s stunning Christmas transformation, its warm and genuine team, and its legendary cocktail hour. Beautifully photographed by Gabelli Studio, their celebration was classic elegance with a festive touch: neutral ivory and greenery florals, emerald green velvet bridesmaids gowns, Christmas trees, and live carolers strolling the space. But the moment both Kate and Joe name as their favorite came before any of it—a first look outside on the grounds, just the two of them, surrounded by snow-covered pines after a dusting the night before, a quiet breath of peace before the celebration began.
Their Story
“It’s a tale as old as time…we met on Hinge. Joe swiped right in August 2023 and although skeptical of the dating apps, he was sweet and had a wicked sense of humor, so we started talking and went on our first date five days later,” says Kate.
“I was living in Hoboken at the time, so we met at Pier 13 for drinks. The level of comfort I felt upon just meeting him was different. After that, we went on three dates over the next ten days. And the rest is history!”
The Proposal
“Our relationship moved pretty quickly. After a few months, Joe looked at me one night and said the three words that would be a constant in our relationship and our wedding, ‘this is it.’ We both knew it to be true.”
“On June 28, 2024, we went for dinner at The Highlawn. It was a beautiful day and we were headed to the patio overlooking the city. I was immediately surprised as there was no one out there, and this patio was packed even on days that weren’t as beautiful. Joe got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and I of course said yes. It was one of the most romantic nights of my life.”
Choosing the Venue
“We knew we wanted a Christmas wedding from the start. The Park Savoy was the first and only venue that we toured. We instantly fell in love with the space and more importantly the people. And after seeing how the venue transforms for Christmas, we were sold. We booked our date right then and there. Also ,coming from two families of foodies, their reputation for food and their infamous cocktail hour also sealed the deal!”
Details of the Day
“The aesthetic we were going for was classic elegance,” says Kate. “The venue was already so beautifully decorated for Christmas that it really didn’t need much. We stuck with neutral florals like ivories and greenery and classic colors like taupe and ivory. We did want to lean into Christmas a little with the dark green bridesmaids dresses, Carolers, and Christmas trees but still wanted it to feel like an elegant affair.”
Favorite Moment
“Our favorite moment would probably be our first look. And that’s coming from two people who were dead set against one at first. Our first look was outside on the grounds under the snow covered pines. Yes, we completely lucked out with the weather with a dusting of snow the night before. That moment was so special. Just the two of us and a moment of peace before the madness!”
“Of course the reception brought so many memorable moments like our tee shirt toss and just the craziness of the dance floor! Our family and friends know how to have a good time!”
Wedding Day Attire
“My dress was designed by Jenny Yoo. It was a classic a line of Italian taffeta. It was heavy! My second dress was more fun and easier to dance in! Designed by Nadine Merabi. Joe and the groomsmen wore Jos A Banks tuxedos with black Gucci ties (their groomsmen gift). The bridesmaids wore an emerald green velvet gown from Revelry.”
Advice For Other Couples
“Our advice would be that when choosing your vendors, get to know them and make sure you gel,” says Kate. “Every vendor is going to be talented and great at what they do but working with people who are just genuine nice people who you can trust to make your day special is the key! We loved every single person we worked with from The Park Savoy to our florist, photographers and everyone in between!”
Honeymoon
The newlyweds are going to Italy in June. “We will be spending fifteen days traveling across Italy including Venice, Tuscany, Rome, Ischia and Positano! We are so excited explore, relax, and enjoy our first big trip together as husband and wife! (And eat lots and lots of pasta)”
